Sajle, lanci, lokoti i u-lockovi svakako su bolja od nikakve zaštite, no ako stvarno želite zaštititi bicikl, jednostavno ga morate opremiti s <a title="BikeSpike via Kickstarter" href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1054587410/the-bikespike" target="_blank">BikeSpikeom</a>. Ovaj mali uređaj montira se pomoću prilagođenog nosača bidona na bicikl, a u malo, crno kućište spakirani su GPS, GSM antena i akcelerometar. Zahvaljujući svoj toj tehnologiji u mogućnosti je pratiti lokaciju vašeg bicikla putem mobitela ili računala, digitalno &#8220;zaključati&#8221; bicikl i poslati <em>push</em> obavijest ukoliko se pomakne, automatski obavjestiti kontakte u slučaju nezgoda, a i prati statistiku poput prijeđene udaljenosti, brzine i omiljene rute. Cijeli komplet teži 950 grama, a sastavljen je od karbonske ploče i tankih aluminijskih cijevi. Autor, Erik Vonk izvorno ga je zamislio za razne oblike jedrenja, no nije isključio i ostale narubne sportove. Setup bi mogao biti posebno praktičan u kombinaciji s novom GoPro Hero 3 kamerom i sličnima koje omogućavaju podešavanje kadra wifi-jem s pametnog telefona. Najdulji segment sklopljenog setupa ne prelazi 50cm pa autori tvrde da stane u svaki ruksak. Pitanje je jedino kamo s ruksakom dok je setup na leđima.<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Prošlo je već par tjedana od teksta o Antares valjcima pa je krajnje vrijeme da napišem koju riječ i o jednom modelu trenažera. Također iz Tacxove ponude. Trenažer će vjerojatno biti opcija za koju će se većina odlučiti, a osobito oni kojima je cilj održavanje snage izvan sezone. Booster je dizajnom napredovao u odnosu na starije modele i sada izgleda baš dobro. Praktičnost većine trenažera je uvijek bila bitan faktor pa je to slučaj i kod ovog modela. Nakon prvog sastavljanja i podešavanja veličini kotača Booster je za svaki slijedeći trening spreman odmah. Za razliku od jefinijih modela uz Booster dolazi i Skyline podmetač za prednji kotač. Dakle, nema više knjiga pod kotačem ne bi li poravnali bike. Podmetač ima &#8220;utor&#8221; za cestovne gume, ali i širi za MTB gumu s ripnom. Postizanje horizontale neće biti problem.</p>
<p>Kao i većina trenažera i Booster proizvodi buku. Ta buka nije pretjerana i preko dana neće biti značajna, ali ako živite u stanu u zgradi s malo lošijom zvučnom izloacijom, vrlo rane ili vrlo kasne treninge susjedi bi vam mogli zamjeriti. Naravno, buka ovisi i o stražnjoj gumi koju koristite. Većina 26&#8221; slick guma će poslužiti, ali naravno Tacx preporuča svoju verziju. Buka je za usporedbu s onom koju proizvode Antares valjci.</p>

<p>Za razliku od valjaka trenažer vozaču nudi cijelu paletu otpora. S obzirom da je Booster ciklo-trenažer otpor mu stvara permanentni magnet, ručica koja se montira na volan nudi deset položaja tj. deset stupnjeva opterećenja. Tih deset stupnjeva zadovoljit će sve, od početnika do supermena. Tu konačno dolazimo do glavne prednosti trenažera. Trening po mjeri svakoga za održavanje forme izvan sezone ili kao dopuna tijekom sezone.</p>
<p>Ako birate samo jednu spravu za trening, to bi trebao biti trenažer. No, ako imate mogućnosti i prostora svakako uzmite i valjke kao odličnu dopunu treningu snage.</p>
<p>Evo opet par treninga prijedloga s Bike Radara:</p>
<p><em><strong>Session 1:</strong> 30-minute time trial (50 mins total)</em></p>
<p><em>Not so much a training session as a test. Perform it every month or so to see how your training is progressing. Warm up for 10 minutes, starting on the small chainring, largest rear sprocket (lowest gear) and medium resistance.</em></p>
<p><em>After every two minutes knock your gear up one sprocket aiming to maintain a cadence of 80-100rpm. After 10 minutes shift to the big ring (keep a medium resistance and you should be in the middle of the rear block) and ride as hard as you can for 30 minutes.</em></p>
<p><em>Cool down for 10 minutes, reversing the warm-up routine. Record the distance you achieved in the 30 minutes and try to beat it next time.</em></p>
<p><em><strong>Session 2:</strong> Threshold booster (41-65 mins total)</em></p>
<p><em>3-6 x 5 mins with 3 mins recovery</em></p>
<p><em>This session is designed to raise your lactate threshold and your ability to perform at or near it. Warm up for 10 minutes in the same way as for Session 1. Shift to the big chainring and work hard for five minutes (aiming for a heart rate 15-25 beats below your maximum).</em></p>
<p><em>At the end of the five minutes drop to the small chainring, drop the resistance and spin easily for three minutes. Repeat this work/recovery cycle for three to six reps depending on ability. Cool down as in Session 1.</em></p>
<p><em><strong>Session 3:</strong> Power blast (37-57 mins total)</em></p>
<p><em>5-10 x 1 min with 3 mins recovery</em></p>
<p><em>The Power blast will boost your explosive strength and power, allowing you to blast up short climbs or win the sprints to town signs. Warm up for 10 minutes in the same way as for Session 1.</em></p>
<p><em>Shift to the big ring and your smallest sprocket. Sprint flat out for one minute (try not to rock the bars too much – your frame might not like it!), initially building momentum out of the saddle before sitting down and carrying the speed through.</em></p>
<p><em>At the end of the minute spin really easily in a low gear against low resistance for three minutes. Repeat this work/recovery cycle for five to 10 reps depending on ability. Cool down as in Session 1.</em></p>
<p><em><strong>Session 4:</strong> One-legged wonder (40 mins)</em></p>
<p><em>5 x 1 min left leg, 5 x 1 min right leg</em></p>
<p><em>This is more of a technique than a fitness session, although it will help to even out any imbalances between your legs. Warm up for 10 minutes in the same way as for Session 1.</em></p>
<p><em>Stay in the same gear/resistance as at the end of the warm-up, but cycle one-legged for the next 10 minutes, alternating one minute left and one minute right. Concentrate on maintaining a high (80-100rpm) cadence and on a smooth, fluid technique.</em></p>
<p><em>Next, shift into the big ring and ride moderately hard with both legs for 10 minutes, keeping up the same cadence and the same feel of fluidity. Cool down as in Session 1.</em></p>
<p><em><strong>Session 5:</strong> Stairway to heaven (42 mins)</em></p>
<p><em>3 x 6 minutes of ascending difficulty with 2 mins recovery</em></p>
<p><em>One for building hill strength and mental toughness. Warm up for 10 minutes in the same way as for Session 1. Shift to the big ring but select a moderate sprocket, like 22. Resistance should be at about a third of your turbo&#8217;s maximum. Ride moderately hard.</em></p>
<p><em>After three minutes, shift up two gears and try to maintain the same cadence for a further two minutes. Finally, shift up another two gears and ride hard for a minute out of the saddle.</em></p>
<p><em>Drop to the small chainring, drop the resistance and recover with easy spinning for two minutes. Shift back to the big ring but this time perform the &#8217;3 mins, 2 mins, 1 min&#8217; sequence with two more clicks of resistance.</em></p>
<p><em>Recover for two minutes again and then work through the &#8217;3-2-1&#8242; once more, again cranking it up by two clicks. Cool down as in Session 1. Be warned, though, this is a toughie.</em></p>

<p>Za velik broj ljudi, jedan od najneugodnijih aspekata vožnje biciklom jest osjećaj svake neravnine na tlu, koja se preko stupa sjedala prenosi na njihovu pozadinu. Nemali je broj proizvođača reagiralo ponudom neke od varijanti amortiziranih stupova sjedala. I dok takvi stupovi sjedala okomitim gibanjem upijaju nešto vibracija, novi BioFloat prototip stupa sjedala ide i korak dalje – djeluje kao amortizer, ali istovremeno omogućava gibanje sjedala zajedno s vozačevom zdjelicom.</p>
<p>BioFloat se sastoji od karbonske cijevi (stupa) na vrhu koje je glava sa stezaljkama koje drže vodilice na sjedalu – baš kao i uobičajeni stupovi sjedala. Stezaljka je, međutim, uglavljena između para elastomerskih umetaka, čime je izolirana od ostatka glave. Na ovaj način, sjedalo „pluta“ na vrhu stupa sjedala.</p>
<p>Dovoljno čvrsti da stvari drže na mjestu, elastomeri su ujedno i dovoljno fleksibilni da eliminiraju vibracije prenesene s podloge, a istovremeno omogućuju gibanje sjedala u doslovno svim smjerovima.</p>
<p>Suizumitelj BioFloata, Tom Petrie, uspoređuje ga s „plutajućim“ značajkama koje su postale standardom kod clipless pedala, kod kojih su vozačeva stopala ukopčana u pedale, ali imaju mjesta za kretanje na pedali, čime je postignuta veća udobnost i manja vjerojatnost od ozljeda. U skladu s tom analogijom, korisnici BioFloata također mogu prilagoditi količinu gibanja u stupu sjedala izborom između tri uključena seta elastomera različite mekoće.</p>
<p>Čini se kako se test vozačima svidjela upotreba 245-gramskog BioFloat prototipa – jednom kada su se priviknuli. Petrie kaže kako su reakcije prilično slične, poput „Prilično se osjeti kad se počne voziti. Čudan je osjećaj, ali na kraju mi se svidjelo. Definitivno sam primijetnio da vožnju čini glatkijom. Kada će biti dostupno?“</p>
<p>To je, u stvari, dobro pitanje. Petrie, koji istovremeno upravlja i kompanijom Cantitioe Road u Koloradu, nada se da bi se na tržištu moglo pojaviti čim nađe poslovnog partnera koji bi financirao komercijalizaciju. Cilja na maloprodajnu cijenu od dvjestotinjak američkih dolara.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ako ste imalo slični meni onda vam je vožnja po mrzloj zimi bolna, do mjere da za istu nemate volje. Pred nama su mjeseci niskih tempertura, a potreba za aerobnim treningom ista je kao i u sezoni. Alternativa se može pronaći u drugim sportovima, no za sve koji su ovisni o svoja dva kotača, alternativa se svodi na dvije sprave. Ovisno o načinu treninga i afinitetima, to su valjci ili trenažer ili naravno kombinacija. Na oba vozite bicikl koji inače vozite pa nema gubitka vremena na prilagodbu. Na probu smo dobili Tacx Antares valjke i Booster trenažer. S obzirom da valjke nisam nikad vozio, prvo ću probati njih.<br />

Počnimo s dizajnom. S uključenim inbus ključevima potrebno je manje od 5 minuta za sklapanje. Konstrukcija je vrlo solidna, kvalitetna plastika i čelični profil. Sastavljene valjke moguće je brzo sklopiti za skladištenje pomoću dvije brzopotezne poluge. Sami valjci su šuplji i blago konkavnog oblika. Nakon inicijalnog podešavanja razmaka valjaka tj. prilagođavanja duljini bicikla, bilo je vrijeme za prvu probu. Valjci na Antaresu su malo većeg promjera, pa kad se na njih postavi bicikl cijela priča je dosta visoka. Kretanje je samim time prilično otežano. Najjednostavnije rješenje je da valjke postavite uz zid. Lakše ćete se popesti na bicikl, a i pružit će vam dodatnu sigurnost prvo vrijeme.<br />

Postoji određena averzija prema valjcima u biciklističkim krugovima pa sam prije prvog pokušaja i ja bio skeptičan. No, uz pomoć zida je lakše sjesti na bajk, a već nakon prvih nekoliko okretaja pedala polako dobivate osjećaj. Desetak minuta kasnije mogao sam pustiti i volan.  Istina, pokreti poput hvatanja bidona i posezanja u stražnji džep majice još uvijek me znaju izbaciti iz sredine. Suprotno pročitanom na netu, meni je lakše držati se sredine valjka ako gledam u prednji kotač nego ako gledam ispred sebe. Možda je stvar individualna.<br />

Vozeči valjke lako se koncentrirati na vlastite pokrete i vrlo brzo primjetite greške u tehnici. Zato su valjci odlični za sve koji imaju problema s &#8220;discipliniranim&#8221; pedaliranjem. Bilo da je riječ o držanju pravca ili koordinaciji mišića nogu pri višim kadencama. Valjci ovdje dolaze do izražaja. Ne samo da vas širina valjka ograničava već tijekom vožnje težite da budete što bliže sredini i što manje lelujate. Vozite li često cestom u grupi, frendovi će vam biti zahvalni. Koncentrirajte se i polako podižite kadencu do trenutka kad primjetite da ste počeli skakutati. Uz dovoljno truda taj nivo bi dosta brzo mogli podići, jer trening na valjcima može popraviti koordinaciju mišića nogu. Osim toga održavate aerobnu formu i muskulaturu. No, s obzirom da Antares valjci imaju prilično mali otpor taj trening neke vjerojatno neće zadovoljiti. O dosta niskom otporu govori i činjenica da sam prema brzinomjeru bicikl uspio natjerati do 67km/h, što je naravno u praksi na cesti nemoguće. Zato bi idealna kombinacija za zimski trening bili valjci i trenažer.<br />
Zaključak je da su valjci zabavna i ozbiljna alatka. S obzirom da sam i sam friški na njima mogu samo <em>copy/pasteati</em> par trening sesija s neta koje sam isporobao. Valjke nam je na probu ustupio Ciklo-Centar, gdje su dostupni po cijeni od 1430kn.<br />

Samom vizualnom dojmu zaista se nema što prigovoriti. &#8220;Wet&#8221; finiš s vidljivim pletivom ispod. Težina je 175 grama, no to se dodatno može smanjiti kraćenjem, s obzirom da je dužina u originalu 400mm. U usporedbi s aluminijskom cijevi, na cestovnom je biciklu ova osjetno udobnija. Istina, naša je promjera 27.2, no pretpostavka je da kod većih promjera razlika nije dramatična. Zasad nemam zamjerke osim orijentacije loga na cijevi. Ako ste Clydesdale iznad 140kg, nemojte, a cijena na ebay-u je oko 300kn.</p>

<p>Za automobilsku verziju ERW-a tvrde da ne samo da eliminira probušene gume, već da i poboljšava učinkovitost, performanse i smanjuje potrošnju. Svaki kotač ima sloj gume u sredini koji je rastegnut i zategnut pomoću podesivih klipova. Izvana je gumena gazna površina (kao i kod obične gume), a između ta dva elementa nalazi se serija elastičnih &#8220;amortizera“, umjesto zraka kao što je uobičajeno.</p>
<p>Prema riječima Briana Russella, jednog od osnivača Briteka, rastezanje unutrašnjeg sloja gume omogućava spremanje elastične potencijalne energije u kotaču. Kada se taj sloj komprimira zbog neravnina na podlozi, spremljena energija se navodno vraća (otuda i naziv kotača) i pretvara u moment kretanja. Također tvrde da to gaznu površinu pritišće uz podlogu, umjesto da odskoči kao što se ponekad događa sa zračnicama.</p>

<p>Sve to predstavlja intrigirajući koncept, no ako netko od inženjera ili fizičara ima išta za reći o tome, komentari su više nego dobrodošli.</p>
<p>Nova MTB verzija kotača ima 29&#8221; obruče od karbonskih vlakana te su (kao neki automobilski prototipovi) sa strane otvoreni. Zbog toga Russell ozbiljno razmatra dodavanje tankih bočnih stranica koje bi spriječile nakupljanje blata i drugog materijala unutar kotača.</p>

<p>Iako nema zračnog pritiska koji bi se mogao podešavati, postoje klipovi za podešavanje napetosti gume kojima se kotači mogu omekšati ili stvrdnuti.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Najjeftinije sjedalo u Specializedovoj ponudi je Riva. Radi se u cestovnoj i mountain verziji i nekoliko kombinacija boja. Razlika između cestovne i brdske verzije je isključivo vizualna, a kalup je skoro jednak. Iako sic vizualno, a i pod rukom daje do znanja da je riječ o sicu s dna ponude, kvaliteta izrade ipak je na visokoj razini. Railovi su cromoly što je uobičajeno za taj cijenovni rang. S obzirom na to da je izbor sjedala tj. odgovarajućeg oblika individualna stvar, sjedalo nije dio koji je jednostavno preporučiti. No, činjenica je da će Riva odgovarati svima kojima su odgovarali SDG Gordo ili Bel Air sjedala. Naravno, uz uvjet da odaberete pravu širinu. Riva je srednje tvrdoće  i nisam osjetio nikakvu neudobnost ni nakon pet sati sjedenja. Kod nas je Riva dostupna po cijeni od 229kn.</p>
