Where can I buy road trip/touring bike from Zagreb?

PostPostao/la CeeP dana 09. 08. 2013. (17:44)

Hello,

I will be riding from Zagreb to Belgrade on the 26th and am hoping to buy a bike before that date (!)

I'm looking for something with a sturdy rack for panniers, good tyres, well serviced...

I'm 6 foot tall. Does anyone have something suitable for sale second hand OR are there any bike shops that are easy to get to from the train station?

ANy pointers appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi there. There are plenty of good bike shops in the city, the nearest one to the train station would be Rog-Joma in Savska street, I suppose. There are a couple more bike shops nearby the Trg Francuske Republike square, which is a bit to the west. I would suggest you state the amount of money you're willing to spend on a bike, so users can advise you whether to buy a used or a new bike.

Hello, Thank you for your reply!

I was hoping to spend around 200 euros, which I guess means buying second-hand...

There's Black Market section on our forum viewforum.php?f=30 where people sell used bikes. Unfortunately, trekking bikes rarely appear, but go ahead and browse.
You may want to post a "wanted" ad in this section of the forum viewforum.php?f=32
Also, have a look at the largest online classifieds in Croatia, here's a link with keyword "bicikl" (bicycle) http://www.njuskalo.hr/index.php?ctl=se ... rds=bicikl but please be aware that Njuskalo is all too often a place where nicked bikes appear for sale.
Anyhow, good luck and have a safe trip.

Spending around 200e most definitely means buying second hand, because for that amount of money you won't be able to find anything new worth buying. The most popular site to browse used stuff (and bikes) here is Njuskalo. The bicycle section is available at this link: http://www.njuskalo.hr/bicikli
There are also some bikes available for sale here on the forum, available at this link here: viewforum.php?f=30
Good luck.

^^ preduhitrio me :D
